At CrossFit Sebastopol all levels of fitness and experience are welcomed and encouraged. We offer a variety of classes to help you achieve your fitness goals.
One of CrossFit's basic beliefs is that optimal fitness is not through long, single-body part training, but rather through "constantly varied, functional movement, performed at a relatively high intensity." CrossFit workouts often include elements of Olympic weightlifting, gymnastics, running, rowing and core conditioning. With every new day comes a new “WOD” or Workout of the Day offering a new and challenging workout. All fitness and experience levels are welcomed and all participate in the same workout. All workouts are universally scalable to be very challenging for each individual athlete (including adapting the workouts to an individual’s movement limitations or a previous injury). Our coaches are all certified through CrossFit Inc. and will instruct you through all of the movements with an emphasis on perfect form to prevent injury and make sure you get a great workout.
CrossFit classes are 60 minutes and happen six days a week. See our Schedule of Classes.
Looking for maximum burn in a minimum amount of time? FastFit is a 30 minute class based in bodyweight movements guaranteed to have you sweating by the end of an intense workout. What are bodyweight movements you ask? In FastFit classes, we push the CrossFit gear aside (barbell, kettlebell, medicine ball, tractor tire, climbing rope, etc…) and we utilize push-ups, sit-ups, squats, pull-ups, jumps, burpees, jumping rope, and more. For newcomers our coaches will motivate and teach you all of the movements with an eye on your form to prevent injury and make sure you have a great workout.
FastFit classes are 30 minutes and happen two times a week. See our Schedule of Classes.
Whether you’re learning or fine tuning your Snatch and Clean and Jerk, our USAW certified coach has you covered. For experienced lifters, Coach Traci will fine tune every phase of your lifting technique. From making slight adjustments to your setup position, to adjusting the angle of your back during the pull, to the tenacity of your punch (in the snatch), etc… she will help you maximize your lifting potential. For those starting out, she will teach the lifts step by step with an emphasis on perfect form to prevent injury. With practice, patience, and determination you’ll be moving some serious weight.
The Barbell Club class is 90 minutes and happens once a week. See our Schedule of Classes.
The Gymnastics Strength classes use progressions from Christopher Sommer's GymnasicBodies program and elsewhere. The classes are intended to improve overall fitness by focusing on joint health and strength through the body's full range of motion. Classes include components on core strength, straight arm strength, bent arm strength, and CrossFit related skills like handstands, muscle ups, and pistols, though generally with a strength focus as opposed to kipping skill development. Building gymnastic strength while restoring full and natural range of motion helps prevent injury, improve form, and overall endurance.
Gymnastics Strength classes are 60 minutes and happen three times a week. See our Schedule of Classes.
CrossFit Kids exposes kids to Greg Glassman’s CrossFit in a fun and safe way. Each class is designed to incorporate "constantly varied, functional movement, performed at a relatively high intensity." Using activities that kids naturally enjoy, CrossFit Kids provides a fitness program implementing a combination of skill practice, workouts and games to build strength and conditioning. Kids also learn the importance of food choices while having time at the end of class to work on homework. Consistently attending CrossFit Kids can positively impact cognitive development, self confidence, transitioning between activities and academic success!
